Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the company to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she resigned from the business. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Since February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals with the show, the largest one being $350,000 to purchase 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence, Corcoran's mother, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., her father, was always changing jobs during Corcoran’s life. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran claims her father was a drunk who did her mother a disservice and disrespect. Corcoran was a troubled student throughout school. She later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic elementary school. After failing several classes during her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
